QuickBooks Hosting – A Superb Financial Solution by William Smith

by: William Smith

QuickBooks software is the most commonly used financial software in small to medium size business organizations. QuickBooks is a very powerful accounting software solution, and can work in a variety of industries and business situations.

Fundamentally, a hosting solution could be the right answer for almost any business. If a business is using QuickBooks, then providing online access to financial data for its financial, professional, or business consultants proves to be a simple, immediate, and cost-efficient answer in order to improve their mutual ability to collaborate or consult on various business issues.

Hosting QuickBooks provides your business numerous benefits.

Accessibility – Anytime, Anywhere

QuickBooks hosting allows you and your clients to access accounting data at any time and from anywhere. This means that client location is no longer a barrier. The finance professional and his /her client, who may be located on opposite sides of the street or opposite ends of the world, still have the same seamless interaction, as if they would have during face to face meeting.

Saves time and money

QuickBooks hosting eliminates the time and expense of upgrading and maintaining QuickBooks on your local network while giving you the flexibility to access your company’s data from any Internet connection. QuickBooks hosting reduces transportation costs as the finance professional and his /her client can work concurrently.

Multi-User Access

With QuickBooks hosting, multiple users are able to access company data on the host servers, allowing them to work in real-time on a single set of data files.

Co-Hosting Option

QuickBooks accounting software can be hosted together with other software, if required, for example, any of the popular tax software. QuickBooks can be co-hosted with various QuickBooks add-ons made by Intuit or third party vendors.

Always Remain Updated

With the convenience of accessing your latest and live QuickBooks data from anywhere and at anytime, you always remain updated about your crucial monetary data.

Convenient and Straightforward

If the accounting professional is handling certain processes for the client, such as payroll or bill paying, using the online system can make this sharing of work much easier and more straightforward.

Use Multiple Versions

Solving the problem of having a variety of QuickBooks installations and client data files on the accounting professional’s system is one of the best reasons to implement a hosted QuickBooks model. The requirement to manage and maintain multiple year versions of software, as well as the client data associated with it, is a big expense that the professional currently, traditionally, bears. This is a redundant resource, as the client is also bearing the cost of housing and maintaining their software and their own data. Using a hosted QuickBooks model centralizes the resource, and eliminates the redundant cost of having multiple year versions of software in two places at once.

High Data Security

QuickBooks host provides strong password protected logins, and high bit encryption and security time-outs to protect your vital data. All data servers are stored in locked cabinets at a physically secured location. It also provides full anti-virus solution and robust firewall protection, so that your business does not suffer at any point of time. QuickBooks host provides fully secured networking operations, so that you do not have to care about data thefts.

Topnotch Technology

Host provides fastest microprocessors and use high speed disks to assure swift networking.

Backup at Multiple Locations

Efficient and technologically advanced hosts provide robust backup at multiple locations.

Full-time Support

Competent application and cloud hosting service provider ensures 24/7 full-time support by security experts without charging any fee.

Why is it Important to Read Copy DVD Software Reviews? by …

by: Matthew Henderson

If you want to make a backup copy of your own personal DVD’s, there are plenty of copy DVD software programs on the market created to burn flawless, complete copies in just a matter of minutes. These days, using such software is actually pretty easy. One doesn’t have to be a computer expert to learn how to burn copies of DVD’s. Since there are so many to choose from, though, the best thing to do is to read copy DVD software reviews.

Copy DVD software reviews normally evaluate the following: success rate, quality, ease of use, copying speed, update frequency, customer support, and features. Some of these factors are more important to some people than others. Some people only care about the ease of use and speed, while others care about the quality of copied DVD’s and whether or not all the features are included on the copied version.

Another thing to check out when reading copy DVD software reviews is whether or not a particular DVD copying software is worth its price. Most normally are, but there are still some that are not. Some are being sold for way more than their actual worth, so thankfully one can get the best for their money’s worth by reading copy dvd software reviews.

So how much is DVD burning software? Well, prices vary from $29 to $150. Buyers shouldn’t necessarily go for the cheapest, though. Once again, as any copy dvd software review will mention, it’s better to dish out a bit of money for a good program rather than buy a cheap, bad one.

So what can be copied with this type of software? DVD’s, CD’s, other software, videos, pictures, documents, and more—most people, of course, use copying software to make backup copies of their DVD collection. Sometimes discs can become scratched, dirty, or broken. Instead of going out and buying new copies at the store, all one has to do is make an extra copy with software! Even if the original disc IS scratched or dirty, or skips for any reason, the copies can come out perfectly. The DVD owner can read copy dvd software reviews to find out which software packages burn high quality copies.

Unfortunately, DVD’s don’t burn perfectly 100% of the time, as there are some occasional errors. Copy dvd software reviews explain the error rates of different programs. Any buyer’s aim should be to get DVD burning software that makes high quality copies with a high success rate. To be on the safe side, one should always have a few extra blank DVD’s around just in case his or her copies don’t turn out.

All in all, copy DVD software reviews are very informative and usually spot on. Anybody who wishes to make copies of movies, software programs, etc., needs to read copy DVD software reviews to help them determine which burning software will best suit their own individual needs. The money DVD collectors can save over the years by not having to actually go out and buy new copies of their favorite films is well worth the initial investment of good DVD copying software.

Disclaimer: Copying a DVD movie for any reason other than to backup up personally owned copies violates international copyright laws.

11 Ways Computer Viruses Are Spread by Stephen Mulberry

by: Stephen Mulberry

It is the worst nightmare of every computer user: you wake up one day and realize that you have a virus, and you don’t know quite how to get rid of it. Most people these days understand what a virus is and how harmful it can be, but they are still somewhat unsure how computer viruses spread. The truth is that there are dozens of different ways in which a virus can spread from computer to computer, but let’s take a look at the most frequent ways in which people run into viruses, spyware and Trojans on the Internet.

1. Email attachments. The world became familiar with the phenomena of email attachments carrying viruses thanks to Microsoft’s Outlook Express automatically opening every attachment to every email you received a few years back. Now that email clients no longer do this, the infection rate from email attachments is significantly lower, but it can still be a common problem. The golden rule is that if you don’t know what an attachment is, don’t open it. To this day, many email users never open attachments, no matter what. You don’t have to take such drastic steps to protect yourself, however; simply use common sense when opening attachments in your email.

2. Rogue Websites. It is depressing to know that you may become infected with spyware or a virus by doing nothing more than simply visiting a website, but it is true. Many adult websites, gambling websites and other less than trustworthy websites will attempt to automatically access your computer when you visit them. They often install adware bugs that will cause a flurry of pop ups to appear on your screen. This adware will often allow for other programs with even more nefarious purposes to be installed and before you know it, your computer will be swamped. To stop these rogue websites, adjust the settings on your antivirus software and firewall so that no outside connections can be made and no programs can be installed without your express permission.

3. Networks. If your computer is connected to a home network or if your work computer is part of a larger network, you may find yourself with an infection through no fault of your own. Someone else on the network downloaded a bug by accident, and within minutes, the entire network could be infected. There isn’t much you can do to stop these kinds of infections, short of having your network administrator ensure that everyone’s antivirus software is up to date so that the invading bug can be removed as quickly as possible.

4. Infected Boot disks. Now that hard drives are obscenely large, the overwhelming percentage of us don’t bother to use boot disks anymore, but a virus can still be spread if an infected disk is in your hard drive and you attempt to restart. When you start your computer, your machine will always check your drives to see if a disk with boot information is present. If one is, your computer will likely automatically attempt to boot from the disk and not from your drive. If a virus is present, it will often be activated and you will become infected. Always know the origin of any disk you put into your drive.

5. Phishing Schemes. Learning how computer viruses spread is important to keep yourself, and your personal information, safe online. Phishing schemes are one of the chief ways in which people end up with their identity stolen and a computer fill of viruses. A phishing scheme starts when you receive an email from a website claiming to be your bank or credit card company. You are asked to click a link and log in, but the truth is that you’ve just given away all of your personal information. Often times, when you visit these sites, spyware, adware and viruses are automatically installed on your computer (see Rogue Websites, above). Your lender or credit card will often send out a real notice that let’s you know that a phishing scheme is going around. The smartest thing you can do is to simply call your bank or credit card company if you receive an email saying there is a problem with your account instead of blindly following links in your email.

6. Infected Software. One of the great things about the Internet is how many free games and programs there are out there, but these free programs often come at a price. Too many rogue websites intentionally infect their freeware (like Kazaa) with trojan viruses so that you unknowingly infect your computer every time you download a free game or piece of software. The key here is to only download freeware or shareware from a trusted source like CNet that always ensures your safety.

7. Hackers. The Internet today is a much more law abiding place than it was ten years ago. Not only did most people not have antivirus protection and firewalls that could stop incoming attacks, most people didn’t even know what they were. Today, people understand the value of good online protection, but hackers can still pose a problem if you allow your protection software to lapse. The best way to beat hackers is to ensure that you have a firewall and up to date antivirus software.

8. Instant Messaging. It is difficult to find a computer in this day and age that doesn’t have at least one instant messaging service installed on it. Unfortunately, these programs are often targets of hackers who see an easy way to trick people into clicking links that lead them to rogue websites. Common sense can keep you out of trouble, however. Only chat with people you know and never follow links to sites that you don’t recognize. You should easily be able to keep Internet worms, viruses and other bugs at bay.

9. Fake Anti Virus Software. This is one of the most frustrating ways to become infected with a virus or worm. There are dozens of anti virus and anti spyware programs you can download for free on the Internet and a surprising number of them actually do exactly the opposite of what they claim. The product websites make outrageous claims that their product can protect you from a whole range of threats, when, in reality, their product will only make things a thousand times worse. Only download antivirus programs from trusted sites or from websites that you know are completely legit.

10. From Mobile Devices. A recent story in the newspaper should serve as a wake up call for anyone who is getting ready to plug in a mobile device into their computer for the first time. A family purchased a digital picture frame from a local store and when they attempted to install the software that came with it, they inadvertently infected their computer with a virus. There really is no way to stop such an infection from happening, since we all buy peripherals that work with our computer, but we can ensure that we have the tools ready to go if an infection should happen. Keep your anti virus software up to date at all times and you should be able to wrestle control back from any Internet bug.

11. Friends and Relatives. Often times, we are sent viruses through our email from people that we know and trust. The social networking site Facebook has had to battle this very problem when their serves get a bug and automatically send out emails to everyone on the system that are infected. Often times, these emails are extremely generic sounding and come with suspicious attachments, but people often open them anyway since they have come from a friend or from a site they trust, like Facebook. Remember, if you get an attachment with an .exe extension or a .dll, don’t ever open it.

Learning how computer viruses spread is the best way we can put an end to their reign of terror online. It is only with the right knowledge and the best antivirus software that Internet users everywhere can beat online bugs for good.

Review on Brother HL-2700CN Laser Printers and TN04 Cartridges …

by: Robert Hearns

With their purchase prices dropping, many business operations are switching to color laser printers. A few years back, a color laser printer would have cost ten times more than its current price. This holds true for the Brother HL-2700CN printer and the TN-04 cartridges.

The Brother HL-2700CN is a 600 dpi printer, though Brother claims it can produce “2400 dpi quality prints” using CAPT technology. It is quite bulky, considering that its maximum print size is A4, with a paper feed tray (LT-27LG) that holds 250 sheets. It is a bottom-feeding printer that works best with paper of up to 210 gsm. On its left front side are the control buttons, along with a 2 line by 16 character LCD display that also serves as level indicator for each of the four toner cartridges.

A separately-sold optional DX 2700 duplexing unit can be attached to the back of the printer to activate two-sided printing. For those with larger requirements, an additional paper tray that can hold 530 sheets (LT-27CL ) easily fits underneath.

To connect to the computer, you can choose from its three ports, namely, USB 2.0, parallel, and wired Ethernet, which can be used individually or simultaneously, making the HL-2700CN a good choice for workgroup printing.

Should the unit require maintenance, the front, top, and side panels all fold out to provide easy access to the internal mechanism. A two-inch long plastic tab on the right side of the printer opens the front cover. Inside is the vertically-mounted OPC (organic photo conductor) belt and fusing unit, and a set of four (CMYK — cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) toner cartridges, so arranged to make the replacement of the OPC belt and toner cartridges a very easy procedure. The cartridges slide in and out without trouble.

The HL-2700CN comes pre-installed with starter cartridges. The black TN04 starter cartridge will produce approximately 5,000 pages, while the three starter color toner cartridges (cyan, magenta, and yellow) will print up to 3,000 pages each; this information may vary though, depending on use. A replacement black cartridge can cost $169.99 and with a yield of up to 10,000 pages at 5 percent coverage. The TN-04 color replacement cartridges are estimated to produce 6,600 pages apiece at 5 percent coverage. Replacement toner cartridges are easily available in most computer stores, office supplies stores, and online resellers.

As the OEM cartridges may be on the pricey side, compatible Brother TN04 toner cartridges that sell for a fraction of the OEM costs provide a budget-friendly option. Compatible toner cartridges are designed and built according to OEM standards, producing an identical copy, with the same high-quality printing results. They are different from “remanufactured” cartridges as compatible cartridges are built from scratch, and not merely cleaned and refilled. They are less expensive than their OEM counterparts, making them the ideal choice for business operators on a tight budget. They are also conveniently available from online stores. Reliable sites provide online catalogues that make toner shopping a breeze, with deliveries accomplished within 48 hours.

The Brother HL-2700CN’s management tools are available from all web browsers and any PC networked to the computer. Those new to networking will appreciate its very user-friendly network interface, Web-BrAdmin, and BrAdmin Professional, which runs under Microsoft Internet Information Server. For Apple users, the printer also supports Rendezvous.

The HL-2700CN’s software is compatible with Windows (95 through XP), Mac (OS 8.6 through 10.3 or greater), and Linux (Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSE, and Debian). Drivers for the HL-27000CN include PCL6 and Brother’s own version of PostScript 3 language emulation. The printer driver includes such options as Manual duplex, n-up (multiple images on one page), Poster, and Watermark print modes. The Brother HL-2700CN includes many useful small-office features. It comes with a 300MHz processor and just one 144-pin DIMM slot with 64MB of memory, expandable to 576MB, which is more than adequate for most small businesses. The HL-2700CN is also built to work with a Compact Flash (CF) card, can be used to store and reprint large documents, as well as special fonts and frequently used forms and templates. Take A Look To My Personal Nokia E71 Mobile Review by Fabio …

by: Fabio Pizzolitto

I have had my Nokia E71 for about 6 months now and have nothing but praise for it. I upgraded from Nokia E62, so initial difference was huge. But once I got to use more features over the months, I realize this is no ordinary phone. Here is my personal overview about some Nokia E71 features

Phone:

Nokia E71 has great call quality, but needs a good signal. Used this with Tmobile first and was disappointed since the signal strength in my area was very low. Then switched to AT&T and am amazed what this phone is capable of. Loudspeaker is good, although has to be cranked up all the way high. Had a Nokia N73 earlier which is by far the best phone in terms of voice clarity and loudness.

Build Quality:

Nokia E71 build quality is exceptional. Phone feels solid and keypad is a pleasure to type with. After using it for about a month with only a screen protector, I see no scratches on the metal back or anywhere on the phone (touch wood!)

Nokia E71 Messaging:

This is a great phone for messaging. The physical keyboard makes typing a lot easier. Nokia email is installed automatically if you try to add gmail, hotmail or yahoo accounts. It provides true push email. However, software is still a little buggy. Also has support for Microsoft Exchange, although there is no HTML support. This phone can also read out your Text messages.

GPS:

Used with the A-GPS, Nokia E71 gets a fix even indoors. Outside the fix is within seconds. Phone comes with Maps 2.0, but can be upgraded to Maps 3.0. Nokia’s navigation is excellent, but unfortunately is not free. The entire U.S. map can be stored on the SD card and is only about 1.2 GB. Google maps work very well with AT&T 3G, but was not able to update maps quickly enough on TMobile’s Edge (while driving at 65mph).

Built in apps:

There are some very good, but lesser known, built in apps on Nokia E71. The podcasting app lets you view audio and video podcasts for free. The dictionary app is excellent for quick lookups as well as translating the word to other languages. Language packs can be downloaded from the nokia website. The internet radio app has quite a few stations to choose from and works very well even on 3G.

Nokia E71 VOIP:

This phone does VOIP quite well. It can be paired with Gizmo. If you have a Google number and set to forward your calls to Gizmo, you can actually take your call on this phone and not spend any cell phone minutes.

Nokia E71 Battery:

Battery life seems to be great in standby mode. I went through almost a day with Nokia Email in push mode without loosing even a single bar on the battery indicator.

Other apps:

Sports Tracker is a great app if you like to keep track of your exercise activity like walking, running, cycling. This app plots your route on a map and keeps track of your pace (and even what music you are listening to at that moment!). It works with only the internal GPS and doesn’t need additional sensors. This app alone makes the GPS worth having in this phone. Workouts can be uploaded to the nokia sports tracker website. Fring works well for instant messaging as well google voice chat. I tried nimbuzz too. Although nimbuzz had a smaller memory footprint, I was not able to get google voice chat to work with it. Fring also has built in support for automatically switching from wifi to 3g and vice versa. e.g if you are on 3G, and get within range of a known wifi access point, Fring will within 5-10 mins automatically change over to wifi. Similarly if you walk out of your wifi range, it will fall back to 3G.

Google Mobile supports voice search that actually works! It is another must have app for the Nokia E71.

Nokia E71 Multi-Tasking:

By far the best feature of this phone is its multi-tasking capability. All symbian phones support multi-tasking in theory, however, due to memory (RAM) constraints, most phones are not able to run more than 1 or 2 apps simultaneously. This phone has a total RAM of 110MB and after startup has a whooping 62MB free. I have been able to run Microsoft exchange, Nokia email, Fring, SportsTracker and the music player all simultaneously and still have about 40mb free.

Nokia E71 Web Browsing:

The built in web browser works well for mobile websites, but is not able to handle larger web pages so well. Wlan speeds are slow. I am not able to get anything more than 1.5mbps using speed tests, even though my internet connection is about 9mbps. This phone supports HSDPA (3.5G) and works well with AT&T’s data network. Opera mini is able to handle full blown web pages and makes the web browsing experience just about acceptable.

Nokia E71 Update:

Unfortunately the phone does get really hot after being on 3G for a few mins or on a call for 15-20 mins. Maybe I just got a defective piece 🙁 Sending it back for a replacement.

Chroma Key Screen Rocket With Live Green Screen Software. by …

by: Ariel kalkua

Making use of live green screen software within your home video studio can be quite easy and not really complicated as you can think. It is widely used in Hollywood for creating films that can otherwise be impossible to create under certain circumstances because of the impracticality with shooting in any location. Chroma key screen allows the film maker as a way to generate any background, she or he desires with no constraints.

Even though it has been popularized in Hollywood it’s being a little more available to anyone who would like to make use of this kind of technology. It is simple to create your own private Photography Studio acquainted with just about a small effort. The live green screen software involves manipulating images and replacing just one colored background with any images that you digitally create with editing software. All you will require can be a chroma key screen or backdrop and hang it in a place in your home, which will have enough space for you to step up a simple studio. Make sure that you measure the area carefully so you will know the size of the screen you will need.

You may purchase your chroma key screen and find everything you will require; the screen, the live green screen software, and Lighting guide. With the editing software, you’ll have an entry to simple editing process that will aid in editing your images and replacing your screen with the background you would probably prefer to have. Either use blue screen or green chroma key screen as your background, because it’s the two furthest colors from any skin tone. Red is also sometimes used professionally as well. It really is important to remember not to allow the subject of the image not wears any clothing, which will be exactly the same color like the background because in the editing process this part of the image might be ‘keyed’ (removed) out of the picture together with the background.

Lighting is a necessary aspect of the chroma key process, mainly because it will determine how the image’s will come out. Having shadows or sometimes a disparity with the brightness within your background can lead to an uneven process, and those parts will likely be away from the variety of colors for any chroma key lights. The rest of the process will involve the editing portion which could either be post production or during real-time video if you are using the live green screen software doing a weather broadcast where the background can be added during the shot.

Whatever the purpose of utilizing the Green Screen, you’ll find that it is increasingly easy to utilize and everybody near you only will enjoy the outcomes of your simple home editing. You don’t need to be a qualified to get a professional result. You just need your chroma key screen and a few creativity!
Ariel K. is using Live Green Screen Software at his home green screen studio on his opinion it gives his videos and photos the professional look. Read more about the importance of chroma key screen in movie making go to: Home-Green-Screen-Studio.Com.
